In 1980 a relevant artistic education program for high school adolescents in Mexico was born: the Muestra Teatral de Secundarias a Escena (MTS). Since then, with the sponsorship of the National Institute of Fine Arts (INBA) and the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), the objective of this program has been to promote artistic experiences of a theatrical nature through the creation of School Theatre Companies (CTE) with the purpose of initiating a project to stage a short dramatic text or to motivate the creation of artistic products of total student authorship in Mexico City. The participating groups have been presenting the result of their project, year after year, in some of the INBA's theaters, which represents a great incentive for those involved in the scenic adventure. This research starts from the questions of what is MTS, how does it work, how has it changed along 35 broadcasts and 36 years of celebration (1980-2015) and what is the experience from the participants' own subjectivity and intersubjectivity (mainly students and teachers).
