Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Raquel Eliana Argandoña de la Fuente (December 5, 1957 in Santiago de Chile) is a Chilean former beauty pageant contestant, TV presenter, actress and mayor of Pelarco. She is best known for her role as the La Quintrala in the 1986 TV mini-series of the same name. Raquel Argandoña was also the 1975 Miss Chile. Raquel is the mother of the actress-singer Raquel Calderón. A beauty pageant, or beauty contest, is a competition based mainly on the physical beauty of its contestants, although such contests often incorporate personality, talent, and answers to judges' questions as judged criteria. The phrase almost invariably refers only to contests for women; similar events for men are called by other names and are more likely to be "body building" contests. Winners of beauty contests are often called beauty queens.
