Malnutrition and HIV/AIDS co-exist together, where both are related each other in causing progressive damage to the immune system. Malnutrition, especially under nutrition is the main problem often seen among HIV/AIDS patients. It is one of the main factor in the treatment effectiveness of HIV/AIDS treatments and clinical outcomes of patients. Both social and the clinical characteristics of patients were the major determinants of malnutrition among HIV/AIDS patients. This necessitates strengthening nutritional assessment, care and support at health facilities.Critical identification and prompt interventions should be enhanced.
