In pursuit of modern medical advancements and their applications in modern Western systems, Muslims living in non-Muslim countries aspire for Islamic legal rulings regarding the usage of DNA for proving or disavowing paternity, particularly when those Western legal systems set dominance for proofs derived through medical tests. In the current paper, I will demonstrate juristic adaptation of DNA functions, especially when conflicting with other shar'ī methods for proving or disavowing paternity, such as legal wedlock or li'ān (mutual condemnation).
