Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Derby War Memorial stands by the Guildhall, Derby, in Derbyshire, England. It was the work of the sculptor George Arthur Walker and was completed in 1924. It features a bronze figure of the Virgin Mary holding the baby Jesus in her arms. The Derby War Memorial was unveiled on the 11th November 1924. The memorial was erected to commemorate the fallen of The Great War but a further inscription was added to cover those who died in the Second World War. The inscriptions read "The Great War/1914-1918" and "For Faith/And Home/And Righteousness/World War 1939-1945". A plaque commorates the victims of later conflicts.
