This book targets two major goals. In the first place, it is an elucidation of Friedrich Nietzsche’s philosophical ideas which are somehow too technical for many people, especially students and lay men to understand. It attempts an in-depth exploration and critical analysis of his major philosophical ideas, approaching them from the dimensions of the various core branches of philosophy namely: metaphysics, ethics and epistemology. In the second place, the book presents a rigorous explanation of Nietzsche’s moral relativism and attempts a critical assessment of this idea in the light of the degree of moral decadence that has barraged the current world. Refurbishment of the crumbling edifice of morality in the world therefore becomes imperative, especially with the global bent which the modern world seems to have taken due to its persistent drift towards cross-fertilization of ideas and inter-cultural relationships taking place among the different peoples of the world. The author maintains the stance that Nietzsche’s moral relativism has certain ugly implications for human well-being and happiness because it precipitates moral anarchy in the society.
