Although reported as rare in developed nations, Focal intracranial suppuration continues (FIS) to be a prevalent serious life-threatening condition in low and middle-income countries like Kenya due to the lack of widespread availability of computerized tomography and in the background of immunosuppression secondary to Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection still endemic in Subsaharan Africa. This text provides a snapshot of the current demographics, clinical presentations, Location, risk factors, and microbiologic profile of patients presenting with FIS to the largest teaching and referral hospital in Kenya.
